Renovation & Expansion
Johnson County’s Central Resource Library serves as a branch library as well as the administrative and support center for the county’s 13-branch library system.
Renovation and expansion were undertaken to ensure the facility would meet the fast-growing county’s needs as well as accommodate a more robust technology infrastructure. Public spaces were reconfigured to improve access, flow and wayfinding, and a portion of administrative areas were repurposed into public space.
Other features of the renovation and expansion include:
- New maker space
- High-tech, flexible meeting spaces
- Increased seating space
- New computer & technology center
- Refreshed children’s collection and young adult area
- Relocation of genealogy and reference section to area with more daylighting
