About Us

Titan Construction, the largest contractor based in Johnson County, Kansas, is pround of our long list of successfully completed projects. This success list include: varying sizes in diverse areas including offices, retail, healthcare, technology, justice, education, industrial, hospitality, recreation, religious and renovation/restoration work.

Titan was founded in 1975 by Tom Saul after working previously as a draftsman, structural engineer and construction superintendent. Tom envisioned an organization founded on the principles of quality, value and integrity. It is those founding principles that we have based our business on over the past 32 years and those same principles are practiced with every new project. Quality, value and integrity is the foundation for our reputation and the instrument of our success.

Partnering to Success Titan was the first contractor in the Kansas City metro area to use the formal process called "Partnering" on all large projects. Partnering is a structured process developed to produce a successful job for the entire "construction team". this team is made up of representatives of all interested and affected parties related to your project.

Each Partnering project develops a customized mission statement and goals specifically tailored to the project. Prior to starting the project, team members discuss possible issues that could arise and then determine a mutually agreeable method of problem resolution for each issue. This proactive investment has been proved to save time, money and stress throughout a project.

Design Build Award Titan Construction received the "Honor Award" for Kansas City, Missouri Fire Station No. 14 for a public sector project under $15.0 milliion. Titan was honored at the DBIA Mid-America Chapter Regional Conference for following the 'best practices' of Design Build on the station. Attending the banquet with Titan Construction were Owner representatives from the City of Kansas City, Missouri; the Fire Department; and the design architectural firm of Gossen Livingston Architects.

Design Build Titan began as a general contractor and continues to serve in that capacity on many projects. We view the Design Build project delivery method as the way of the future and many of Titan's projects have been built under the Design Build contract.

"Marvin Black" Award for Partnering In 1999, Titan's Johnson County Courthouse Renovation project was awarded the Marvin Black Award for Partnering, one of only eight awarded nationwide. The judging factors that were considered in the selection of the award winners focused on these major points:

Adherence to the principles of Partnering
Teambuilding
Improved communications
Conflict resolution
Delivery of quality to the jobsite
